Angela Yam, Soprano
Praised for her “huge, clear voice,” Angela Yam has sung with the New York City Ballet, Santa Fe Opera, Opera Saratoga, and Fargo-Moorhead Opera, where her work was praised as “wickedly funny and talented,” and “a powerful soprano that really gets your attention.”
Hailed as “radiant” by The Boston Globe, Angela Yam has sung with a variety of orchestras including the New York City Ballet, Santa Fe Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Baroque, Chautauqua Opera, and Opera Saratoga.
Her recent credits include the title role of Cavalli’s La Calisto (Opera Memphis), Josephine Young understudy in Huang Ruo & David Henry Hwang’s An American Soldier (PAC NYC), Johanna in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd (Chautauqua Opera, Opera Saratoga) and Diana in Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride (Boston Baroque). Angela has premiered several operas, including Kenji Oh & Kelly Rourke’s The Emissary (Opera Parallèle), Ellis Ludwig-Leone & Karen Russell’s The Night Falls as Siren 1 (BalletCollective), and Jones & Tinley’s ICELAND (Overtone Industries) as the Bird.
Angela’s solo concert appearances include performing in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (New York City Ballet), Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle (Opera Saratoga), and Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine (Music at Co-Cath). She also won the New York City District in the 2023 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, and her self-directed Visual Recital was awarded 3rd place in the 2022 American Prize Competition.
David Kravitz, Baritone
Hailed as “a charismatic baritone” by the New York Times and “a first-rate actor” by Opera (UK), David Kravitz’s recent opera engagements include lead roles at Washington National Opera (Davis Miller in the world premiere of Approaching Ali), Chautauqua Opera (Captain Balstrode in Peter Grimes), Skylight Music Theatre (Scarpia in Tosca), Opera Santa Barbara (The Forester in The Cunning Little Vixen), Grand Harmonie (Don Pizarro in Fidelio), Opera Saratoga (Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola), Charlottesville (Ash Lawn) Opera (Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof), Boston Lyric Opera (Abraham in Clemency), Emmanuel Music (Nick Shadow in The Rake’s Progress and Nick Carraway in The Great Gatsby), and the New England Philharmonic (Wozzeck in Wozzeck). He recently created the lead role of De Sade in Nicola Moro’s Love Hurts at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, Italy, and at Symphony Space in New York. His many concert appearances include the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony, the Virginia Symphony, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Emmanuel Music, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and Boston Baroque.
David Myers, Jr., Tenor
Tenor David Myers, Jr. performs throughout New England, receiving praise for his “beautifully polished tone” and “attractive tenor sound” by former Portland Press Herald critic Allan Kozinn. In addition to performing with professional ensembles such as St. Mary Schola and Amethyst Chamber Ensemble, he is featured regularly as a soloist with Maine-based choral groups including Down East Singers, Lincoln Festival Chorus, Sheepscot Valley Chorus, and St. Cecilia Chamber Choir.
David was most recently featured in Words & Music, a new musical revue with music by award winning Maine composer Aaron Robinson and lyrics by Suzy Hallett. In 2024, David also appeared as Ezekiel Cheever in Opera in the Pines' production of Robert Ward's opera The Crucible. In recent years, he has been cast as "Slushie Guy" in the Osher School of Music at University of Southern Maine's world premiere of Girl In Six Beats (a chamber opera in one act commissioned by Opera Maine with music by local composer Daniel Sonenberg), and as Fenton in USM's full staging of Otto Nicolai's The Merry Wives of Windsor.
David is employed as the choir director at North Yarmouth Congregational Church in North Yarmouth where he also maintains his private voice studio. He holds a Master’s Degree in vocal pedagogy from the School of Music at the University of Southern Maine where he studied with the late esteemed soprano Ellen Chickering. When he is not singing, teaching singing, or directing singers, David enjoys playing french horn and trumpet in various local wind ensembles and pit orchestras.
